# Claude Code and AI tools

> Claude Code, Codex, the AI desktop apps, CodexBar, Ollama, and how the workstation wires them in.

Claude Code is a first-class part of the workstation. It opens in a Ghostty split or a tmux pane in the folder you are in, its sessions show in the bar when they wait for you, and its limits sit in the menu bar. zc-workstation itself is a Claude Code plugin, so an agent can plan and apply changes to the machine, with your yes.

## On the workstation

- Codex, Claude, ChatGPT and GitHub Copilot desktop apps come from the Brewfile; Ollama runs models locally.

- CodexBar shows Claude Code and Codex session and weekly limits with reset countdowns.

- claude-squad runs several Claude Code sessions side by side (`cs`).

- A setup script installs the zc-workstation plugin and Claude’s notification hook.

- ZC Care’s Cleanup clears what AI tools leave behind and never touches their chats or the version in use.
