# Mac helpers

> asimov, pam-reattach, mkcert and the other helpers that fix small Mac annoyances.

Command-line helpers that make the Mac behave better for development.

## On the workstation

-   **asimov:** keeps `node_modules`, Gradle `build` and other rebuildable folders out of Time Machine; runs once a day.
    
-   **pam-reattach:** Touch ID for `sudo` also works inside tmux.
    
-   **mkcert:** trusted HTTPS certificates for local development.
    
-   **terminal-notifier:** notifications from scripts, such as the weekly update.
    
-   **mas:** installs App Store apps from the Brewfile.
    
-   **fileicon:** sets a custom icon on a folder or an app from the command line (`fileicon set ~/Developer icon.png`).
    
-   **A weekly update** launch agent runs `update` and notifies you.
