# mise

> mise, the runtime manager: Java, Node, Python and Gradle versions.

mise installs and switches language runtimes per project. Enter a folder with a `.nvmrc`, `.sdkmanrc` or `.python-version` and the right version is on PATH; no SDKMAN, nvm or pyenv needed.

## On the workstation

-   Installed by the `mise` formula; the `runtimes` target applies `mise.toml` through the `tools` provider.
    
-   Pins Temurin 25, 21 and 17, GraalVM Community 25, Gradle, Node LTS and Python 3.13.
    
-   Reads the version files projects already have.
    
-   A config mise does not trust yet is a `MANUAL` step, never trusted for you.
